Len Fishman

· has been in legal practice since 1975, and with Terry Beley in Fishman Beley Family Law Associates for over a decade.

· Graduated the University of Manitoba in 1974 and was called to the Bar of Manitoba in 1975.

· has argued cases in the courts of Manitoba and has taken two important cases to the Supreme Court of Canada.

· has taught and lectured on Family Law at the University of Manitoba Law School as a Sessional Lecturer in the Clinical Family Law course for over ten years.

· was Course Head for the Family Law Section of the Law Society's Bar Admissions Program, for over 10 years.

· has contributed to the education of students and peers for the Law Society of Manitoba in numerous Continuing Legal Education programs .Go to Articles for a sample of papers he has presented.

· maintains an active role in the reform of the law, the legal process, and is committed to the efficient and professional delivery of legal services.

· is frequently appointed as an arbitrator by lawyers or clients or is the Law Society's appointed Chair on Fee Arbitrations in Family Law (a free program of binding arbitration in family law fee disputes sponsored by the Law Society of Manitoba).

· is and has been on various Manitoba Bar Association and court committees, currently including the Child Support Guidelines Advisory Committee, the committee for the computerization of the preparation of court orders, known as The Auto-Orders Project, and the Clauses Review Committee which is preparing and reviewing the Auto Order Clauses.

· was Chair of the Manitoba Bar Association, Family Law Section, for two years and made submissions on its behalf to the federal government respecting the federal Divorce Act, and the provincial government respecting The Marital Property Act. He continues to be active in The Family Law Subsection as a member.
